KITTERY, Maine — A volunteer town firefighter who works at a local lobster company is accused of using the company's credit card to purchase more than $1,200 in gas for his own personal use.
According to Lt. Russell French, police issued the summons for Kristopher Emery, 19, of 15 McDougal St. in Kittery for allegedly using the credit card of the Seaview Lobster Company.
Police were made aware of the alleged thefts on May 21 after receiving a phone call from the business reporting that one of their employees had fraudulently used the card without them knowing.
"We have probable cause to believe that between March 5 and May 16, Mr. Emery used the company's Irving credit card to purchase over $1,200 worth of gas for his own personal use," said French.
A day after receiving the information, police summonsed Emery on a Class C felony charge of theft by unauthorized use of property.
Emery was released on his own recognizance and ordered to appear in Alfred Superior Court on July 10.
